| 35 years ago I took what was supposed to be a short break from teaching, to have a baby. In the following years a small store of practical life materials, started by the older sisters of this new baby "Michael Olaf", grew into a world-wide phenomenon: The Michael Olaf Montessori Company. Thanks to questions and feedback from you, our customers, over the years I have come to understand the details of using Montessori in the home, and I have been able to share the wisdom of many Montessori educators in many different ways. Now I focus on teaching adults, as with the AMI 3-6 course in Morocco beginning this spring, in writing, creating the oil paintings that are found on the covers of my books, speaking, and consulting. A PERSONAL NOTE: in 1970, in graduate school to be a philosophy professor but amazed and inspired by the experiences of my oldest child as she began her Montessori journey at age 3, we went to London with no money, no job, and no place to live, with a 4 year old and a 1 years old. We were crazy some people thought. But it was without a doubt the most valuable experience in my life and just look at the journey that began way back then. I still believe this is the surest path to fulfilling the best of the potential of human beings, and for peace on Earth. I hope to see some of the people reading this in Morocco this spring.
